Head lice spread quickly through the schools, surf clubs and sports teams that make up daily life on the Northern Beaches, and a single case in a class or team can circulate for weeks if it isn't treated properly the first time. Our specialists use a combing technique, not chemical treatments, working through the hair section by section to remove lice and eggs completely. This matters because many pharmacy treatments are increasingly ineffective against head lice, which have grown resistant to some common chemical formulas over time. Physical combing doesn't rely on chemistry, so it isn't affected by that resistance.

A single treatment is rarely the end of it. We recommend a second comb 5 to 7 days later to ensure that head lice hasn't been caught from a friend, or whoever you might have infected. This also ensures that any eggs missed have not had time to mature, mate and begin the cycle again.
