Between school, the beach, and everything in between, kids across the Eastern Suburbs spend a lot of time in close contact with each other, which is exactly how head lice move from one household to the next so easily. A single case in a classroom at Bondi or Vaucluse can turn into several more within a week or two if nobody treats it properly the first time. Pharmacy treatments still lean heavily on insecticide chemicals, and a lot of head lice have built up resistance to the more common formulas over the years. That's part of why we don't use them. Instead, our specialists work through the hair section by section with a comb and conditioner, physically removing lice and eggs rather than trying to kill them with chemistry. It's slower than a quick chemical rinse, but it's not affected by resistance, and it doesn't rely on guesswork.

A single treatment is rarely the end of it. We recommend a second comb 5 to 7 days later to ensure that head lice hasn't been caught from a friend, or whoever you might have infected. This also ensures that any eggs missed have not had time to mature, mate and begin the cycle again.
